REGISTRATION

Registration opens on November 1st and closes when we arrive at either 600 registrants or February 28, whichever comes first.
Registrations will be processed by Zip Viaggi (information to follow in October).
The fee will be:
100 euros for scholars from Europe, Australia, and North America
40 euros for scholars from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America
40 euros for doctoral candidates and new scholars (up to first five years of teaching)

Registration covers costs for conference, which includes facility costs, programs,
simultaneous translations during plenaries and parallel plenaries,
coffee breaks, banquet dinner on last evening, and opening reception.
Everyone must be registered;
only plenary speakers do not have to pay registration costs.

Spouses and partners of registered participants are free to register at the same rates as their spouse/partner.
This registration gives them access to everything.
If they only want to attend the closing dinner, then they may register at a fee 30 euros when they arrive at Trento.
Since facilities are limited and registration is expected to be full, there will be no admission to any other event if they are not full registrants

GETTING TO TRENTO

The most common way of getting to Trento is flying into the Verona airport. Most Major
European cities have flights to Verona (Rome, Munich, Frankfort, Paris, London, Madrid, etc.)

We are contracting with a bus service, Trentino Trasporti, which would take you
from the Verona airport directly to most of the hotels listed below
in roughly 70 minutes.

This is very good news. We haven't established the details or costs yet.
Prices might be around 20 euro. When we get this settled, we'll let you know more.
We might try to get a service from Venice as well.

ARRIVING A FEW DAYS EARLY?

From theVerona airport, there is a bus that takes you to the train station:
it is outside the arrivals of the airport (the only bus).
It goes only one stop, the train station.
You buy your ticket on the bus for the 15minute ride, a 4.50 euro fare.

Trent is about 60 minutes north of Verona and trains depart about every hour.

There are machines at the train station from which you can buy your tickets and prices
vary according to speed, from 5 euros to 12 one way

From Venice to Trento there are trains about every hour
that run from 9 euros (for 4 hours) to 22 euros (2 hours thirty minutes).
Similar trains from Milan, Rome, Munich.

WHAT TO SEE IN TRENTO?

They are providing guided tours of the city on July 24,
after you pick up your registration packages.

Trent is a beautiful city, with many frescoed palazzo
a great bike/running path straddles the Adige river and local vineyards
Sites to see: Castello Buonconsiglio, Museum of the Diocese of Trent, Piazza del Duomo,
Church of Saint Mary Major (where Conciliar disputations were held)

VISITING AROUND TRENTO

Verona is one hour south with its Roman arena and Church of San Zeno,
Forty minutes east of Verona is Vicenza with its Palladio villas, forty minutes east of Vicenza is Venice.
An hour south west of Trento is the beautiful Lago di Garda
Three hours south west of Trento is Milan
An hour north of Trento is Bolzano and the Dolomites (hiking anyone?)
Five hours north of Trento is Munich

this regional travel as well as tickets for the opera in Verona, etc.

Prices are subject to change
Sometimes a single room in a hotel is pretty small:
as an alternative, hotels offer a double to be used as a single.
That booking should not be confused with a double,
where two guests stay in one room.

In booking your room, you might want to say that you are attending
the International Conference for Moral Theologians

In some hotels, smoking is permitted; be sure to ask
for a non-smoking room, if that is your wish

Trent has a large pedestrian zone;
the walking times are estimated for healthy adults

I would NOT recommend making reservations until after October 15 when I will have contacted again each hotel.
I'm posting this now so you can anticipate expenses.

Through the University of Trent, we will be providing housing
to about 220 guests from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
The University is providing us with 220 single rooms (with bath)
for our guests. The university has no other housing available.
