Three Enormous bits of news to share
1. Catholic Theological Ethics in the World Church:
The Plenary Papers from Padova was submitted To Continuum on
January 22. We expect that it will be published in September.

2. Paul Chummar announces from Nairobi:
International Symposium on Natural Law
Inspired from The First International Cross-cultural Conference
for Catholic Theological Ethicists, Padova - Italy, we are conducting
an “International Symposium on Natural Law: … in search
of “a common denominator for moral principles … and
laws affecting rights and duties for all” … from 06-08
February 2007, here in The Catholic University of Eastern Africa,
Nairobi, Kenya, an initiative of the Faculty of Theology, in collaboration
with the Faculties of Arts, Science, Education, Commerce. All together
we have 21 paper presentations in ten sessions of three days. The
paper presenters are from 12 different countries: France, U.K, Kenya,
U.S.A., Poland, Uganda, Tanzania, India, Democratic Republic of
Congo, Malawi, Germany and Ireland. Among the presenters we are
privileged to have two international experts: Prof. Peter Hünermann,
University of Tübingen, Germany, a Dogmatic Theologian, and
Prof. Augustin Thottakara, an Indian Philosopher.
The Opening Address will be given by His Excellency Archbishop
Alain Paul Lebeaupin, Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and Permanent Observer
of Holy See to UNEP and UN-Habitat. He has a doctorate in Civil
Law and Masters in Cannon Law and Theology. Further, the Keynote
address will be given by the Director, Konrad Adenauer Foundation:
Rule of Law Program for Sub-Saharan Africa.

3. Finally, Mary Jo Iozzio announces a new project on women
and HIV/AIDS, a manuscript of 29 authors, that will be submitted
to Continuum in March 2008, published in Novemeber 2008, entitled
Calling for Justice throughout the World:
Catholic Women Theologians Considering the
Moral Ramifications of the HIV/AIDS Pandemic
