Ellen Van Stichel is as a theological ethicist connected to the Dominican Research Centre for Theology and Society (DSTS) in Amsterdam – The Netherlands. She is also a guest research at the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam.
She obtained her PhD at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium (2010), entitled Out of Love for Justice: Philosophy and Catholic social teaching on global duties. Her main research area is the interdisciplinary dialogue between philosophy and social theological ethics. Particular focus is on issues such as globalization, inequality and poverty, development cooperation through the lens of questions of relationality, public meaning of love and care, … The Dominican Research Centre she’s part of is currently working on a project on the ‘good life for all’ from Dominican, Catholic, ecumenical and interreligious perspective.
