Emily Reimer-Barry is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of San Diego where she has been a faculty member since 2008. She earned a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, M.T.S. from Weston Jesuit School of Theology, and Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago. She teaches undergraduate courses in Catholic theology and theological ethics. Her research interests include feminism, sexuality, war and peace, HIV and AIDS, ethical methodology, and the intersection of public health and Catholic social teachings. She has published articles in the Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics, Concilium, and Practical Matters. She is the author of Catholic Theology of Marriage in the Era of HIV and AIDS: Marriage for Life (Lexington, 2015). She lives in Chula Vista, California, with her spouse and two children.
