Hekima Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations (HIPSIR) is a Jesuit university institution that offers MA degrees and certificate courses in peace studies and international relations. HIPSIR, is part of Hekima College, a constituent college of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

 

Purpose:  To enable participants acquire knowledge on conflict resolution, peacebuilding and reconciliation mechanisms and equip them with practical tools for social change.

 

Subjects to be covered

·       Conflict and Peacebuilding Theories

·       Conflict resolution mechanisms- Theory and practise

·       Historical analysis of the African conflicts: social, political & economic perspectives

·       Models of Peacebuilding and Reconciliation in the social-political context

 

Targets:  The program targets university students, pastoral agents, and all those interested in practical and theoretical skills in Peace Building and strategies towards Reconciliation.

 

The applicants must fulfil the following requirements:

·       a good command of English,

·       must have at least Secondary School Leaving Certificate

·       be computer literate (word processing, emails, etc.)
